(I've been off the blog for the last couple of weeks, meeting deadlines and attending the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival, but will be back full-time this week. Meanwhile, this is somewhat urgent...)
A message from Patty Friedmann, one of my favorite New Orleans writers:
I am asking for direct donations of O-negative blood.
My granddaughter Summer is having her second open-heart surgery April 23. She will have to have four units of blood, and she can have only O-negative. She is just 21 months old. If you're O-negative and willing to help--and weigh over 110--could you drop me a line?
If anyone in the NOLA area can help Patty and her family, please drop me a line and I'll put you in touch. Thanks. (I'm an A-positive, or I'd be there.)
Patty's got the blood she needed (how strange it is to write that), so: back to your regularly scheduled Internet.
