According to Nick Zukin at Portland Food, the restaurateur who was repeatedly accused of plagiarism over the last week has abruptly shut his doors for good, the very day that Willamette Week named him their "Rogue of the Week":
Okay, so I just got a phone call from [the restaurant's former restaurant wine consultant Cole] Danehawer. Terroir is indeed closed. He hadn't been really involved since October, but he got a very short email from [owner Stu] Stein yesterday telling him that Terroir was closed. Stein was the sole owner, so it was his to close. Danehauer didn't have any other information or details on why exactly or why now.
I haven't been able to confirm, though no one is answering the phone at the restaurant, and it was shuttered at 8 pm last night.
Maybe he can move to Seattle and start serving dinners on the median of I-5. Oh wait - that's already been done too....
