Found out that I'm going to the Walker Percy Southern Literary Festival next month, where one of my plays, Babydaddy, will be performed Nov. 3 at the Greater Covington Center about an hour north of New Orleans...the same weekend as the Louisiana Book Festival.
The other winners of the contest are Raymond Cothern of Baton Rouge, LA (The Pallbearer's Social), Max Langert of Austin, TX (Great Times at Tom's Place on the Lake), and Margie Langston of Richmond, VA (Out to Dry). And I'm pretty excited because Babydaddy will be performed by Oneal Isaac, a well-known Southern actor and storyteller.
I'm also excited at the chance to stay a few extra days and go to the Rendezvous des Cajuns to see two of my favorite bands: Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie and the Pine Leaf Boys.
Congratulations on the play, and on the beer article. Good work and good news all around.
