I have a review, "Fatal Distraction," of Michael Connelly's latest novel, Echo Park, in this Sunday's Washington Post.
Connelly is really one of the best L.A. crime writers working today. James Ellroy seems to get all the ink for covering much of the same territory (for the record, I think Ellroy is terrific, too), while Connelly's work seems to get unfairly categorized with airport novels. But I think he's a serious writer, with some seriously good writing.
And popular? Currently there are 389 holds on Echo Park at the local library.
