Great news! A short play that I wrote several years ago, Boo and the Shreveport Baby, is going to be presented at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago on Oct. 9. It's part of Native Tongues, an omnibus series by several New Orleans playwrights, and staged by the city's best director, Carl Walker, as a benefit for Katrina relief.
Never have I been so happy not to be paid for something I wrote. There's talk of doing it in other cities, so we'll see.
